Kotipelto nursery is known for wide range of special sprouts and extra quality recognized also by top chefs of finnish fine dining restaurants. Customers´ wishes are acknowledged and production is developed according to customers` needs.
In spring 2017 Kotipelto nursery made rental agreement on greenhouse of Sybimar, which operates fish production facility in the same location. New growing area is certified for organic production. This fall 2017 greenhouse was equipped with LED-lighting.
“In organic production we use organic fertilizers and soil. We use the CO2 and extra heat formed in fish production facility and this makes our carbon footprint smaller. Ecological solutions are very important for us. That is why we wanted also to invest in LED-lighting. This way we are a trailblazer not only in ecological fertilizers, soil and heating, but also in minimizing the use of electricity.” – Pirjo Mönkkönen, grower.
