Integrated lighting, led cooling and recovered heat together form a highly energy efficient system, where vertical farm turns from energy eater into energy creator. Together with cooling, humidity control system and heat reuse the vertical farm concept also saves fresh water considerably compared to traditional greenhouse growing. High energy recovery
With vertical farms there´s always the challenge of keeping the farm in right temperature. Water-cooling of leds takes extra heat away from the layers. It also enables longer lifetime for led fixtures and helps to recover the heat energy from led lighting. At system level the combination of dehumidifying technology and water-cooled leds leads to a very high energy recovery rate.
Saving fresh water
Only a small fraction of irrigation water is bound to the leafy green itself. Normally in traditional cultivation, major part vaporizes into the air and is finally ventilated outside. In Netled Vertical Farm Concept all vaporized humidity is bound into water droplets and caught into water circulation to be reused in irrigation.
