Netled was the first company in the world to introduce the hybrid lighting technique, which combines HPS and LED lighting. Over ten years, we have designed and produced full lighting projects, thus the technology and compatibility of materials is refined to perfection. For example, we use unbreakable structure in our circuit board, non-reflective glass and top quality zink and powder painted cases. In addition, we have added other features, for example, digital usage (on/off/dimming) and compatibility with Virtual Power Plant, which brings significant income to farmers. We have also developed steering technology to challenging cases. Digital steering removes downburst, which is a typical problem of LED lighting, and enables steering of energy efficient light exposure.
Turn-key lighting solutions
Netled designs and manufactures greenhouse lighting in an ISO certified factory in Finland. We have solid experience in the design of full LED hybrid or full HPS hybrid lighting solutions. For greenhouses, we offer turn-key solutions from suitable light design to the delivery of light fixtures and installation accessories, including electrical cabinets and installation work. Our products are adjustable and can be attached to any automation system. Netled also offers HPS lights for hybrid and HPS solutions.
With one hybrid lighting plan we ensure that HPS and LED lights are mixed effectively and the quality and speed of the production stays even. In full LED installations, a good lighting plan ensures that light doesn't escape to the walls and roof. Instead, the light is utilized as well as possible in the farming area.

Digital adjustability of LED lighting is a must today. Every project is based on careful and precise lighting planning. The delivery of the lighting project includes all the fixtures, design work, installation work, electrical infra inside the greenhouse, measurements and documentation.
Alanne Farm grows berries and vegetables on the banks of the beautiful Paimio River in the Paimio River Valley in Southern Finland.
Strawberries are grown on the farm in both open-field and greenhouse conditions. On the open fields the strawberry harvest is short and begins around the end of June and ends by about mid August.
At Netled, we have been researching together with Aarni Alanne the best way to extend the strawberry harvest both in the spring and the autumn by using our LED lighting solutions for greenhouse-grown strawberries.
The ability to extend the strawberry harvest in Finland with increased energy efficiency would make a huge impact on that side of the business. Getting the strawberries to market earlier would create a significant competitive advantage for Alanne Farm as the months of May and June see important Finland-wide celebrations such as Labour Day, Mothers’ Day, graduation ceremonies, midsummer parties, and many other festivities.
The LED lighting experiments have been carried out for three years running at Alanne Farm in the test greenhouse, and in spring 2021, Aarni was able to harvest the first ripe strawberries already in the first week of May! In contrast, the strawberries growing in natural light were still weeks away from ripening.
In addition to LED lighting, we also dosed the test greenhouse with carbon dioxide, and we were able to perfectly control the temperature and irrigation. Different varieties of strawberry have also been tested in the greenhouse.
Our goals were to find a sufficient light density, a variety of strawberry with a natural tendency to ripen early, and also to test raising the harvest per m2 by increasing the seedling density in the greenhouse.
The amount of greenhouse-grown strawberries is on the rise in line with consumer
demand, and therefore research into finding the best growing methods is incredibly important.
Kotipelto nursery is known for wide range of special sprouts and extra quality recognized also by top chefs of finnish fine dining restaurants. Customers´ wishes are acknowledged and production is developed according to customers´ needs.
In spring 2017 Kotipelto nursery expanded it´s growing area. Greenhouse was equipped with LED-lighting.
