In this second interview, Niko talks about how Netled has evolved to become the one-stop shop for vertical farming solutions. Rather than simply proving the technology for vertical farming, Netled now provides everything from assessing the feasibility of a potential vertical farm, to designing, planning and building the facility, to commissioning and follow-up support to get the vertical farming facility off the ground.

“Technology is only as good as the people who make that technology”

He also talks about how the technology is just a small part of the entire solution, and the importance of focusing on the other aspects of the vertical farming business in order to make it a success.

The company’s headcount has tripled in the last 12 months, and Niko touches on the challenges of finding the right people to make the technology and business work, and bring all the necessary moving parts together to keep the company operational.

Niko also talks about the Vera® vertical farming system that has been built at Rambridge Wholesale’s facilities in Calgary, Canada, allowing North American potential customers to easliy visit the site and see the technology first hand.

He also touches briefly on our very exciting project in Sweden – more details to be released about that soon!

Niko finishes by suggesting that the vertical farming field is perhaps the most important area to be working in at the moment, especially with the threat of potential food shortages in Europe.
